Feltuar: The Dragonblood Path

Heads are gonna roll
Bad to worse

Our heroes set up camp in the forest to lick their wounds before trying to retake the keep again. After a night’s rest, they returned to Old Kellar to discuss another plan. The old dwarf was clearly concerned and discomforted by their failure, as his house had been ransacked by the Iron Circle during the night’s search for the party, but agreed to report the site of a fake camp where they would lay in ambush.

A few hours later, a group of sentinels and tar devils approached the camp, and were defeated by the adventurers. Unfortunately, their failure to return elicited a violent response from Nazin Redthorn and the Iron Circle. While the adventurer’s rested from a hidden place on the outskirts of town, they watched as Redthorn left the keep with his full force, beheaded Old Kellar, and razed much of the town. They then left along the road toward the Thunderspire.

The party left quietly on the road toward Fallcrest, but were caught up to by a tiefling messenger while at a roadside tavern. The tiefling dropped the head of Dar Gremath on the floor and told the adventurers that “Lord Vehaynik wanted them to know that the Iron Circle will prevail.” Before the fight began, our heroes cleared the room of the minor inconvenience of witnesses by killing the barkeep, and four patrons before attacking the tiefling. The tiefling was eventually defeated, though nearly at the cost of Sardis’s life.

Good thing that happened while Korzon was in the outhouse.

Technically, it went exactly as planned.

After a narrow victory defeating Nazin Redthorn with the help of two new additions to the party, a Genasi Swordmage named Sardis, an eladrin mage named Berrian, and a Dragonborn Avenger named Kellin, the group celebrated victory with a drunken fight between Korzon and Kellin over the campfire.

The next morning, the group went to Harken Village to speak with Old Kellar, the Dwarf who built Iron Keep. After learning what they could about the layout and secret passages of the keep, the andventurers disguised themselves as a merchant caravan and sneaked into the keep. Once inside, they mounted a courageous assault on the most fortified section of the keep, where the expected Redthorn to be. Unfortunately, the noise drew the attention of nearly every guard in the castle, and our heroes found themselves hopelessly outnumbered after an extended fight.

During the escape, Harbek fell, but the rest of the party got away to fight again.

The Battle of Albridge

After showing the Woodsinger Elves evidence of the defeat of their goblins and undead wizard Eriyel promises the adventurers fifty of her most available archers.

The adventurers made their way back to Albridge by way of Harken village and found the Iron Circle preparing for war. After returning to Albridge with news of what they saw, Dar Gremath asks for their help in preparing the townsfolk for the coming battle as he works with other leaders from the area to bring in the back up the adventurers had secured. After a somewhat restless night during which the party was unable to bolster the spirits of the locals as much as they had hoped, the Iron Circle attacked, hoping to crush the rebellion.

When there was a break in the citizen’s line, the adventurer’s moved in to defend it. They cut down a unit of eleven Iron Circle marauders and a spitting drake, before being called to defend against a Dark Adept and two Tar Devils, who proved to be a challenge for the adventurer’s nearly killing Kellin.

While resting a moment after defeating the Tar Devils, a roar of challenge made its way across the battlefield. Another group of Iron Circle soldiers advanced upon the party. They were supported by two scaly humanoid creatures with horns and tails, with dripping globs of burning pitch in their taloned hands. With the band rode a massively muscled human warrior in scale armor. A standard flew from a holster at his stirrup – a black pennant with a red and gold trimmed grey ring in the center, “You!” the enemy lord cried. “You are the ones who have caused me so much trouble! Know now that you face Lord Nazin Redthorn, champion of the Iron Circle. With you deaths, my victory is assured!”

The Woodsinger Elves
The second adventure

The adventurers returned to Albridge and met a Drow hexblade named Kallin (sic) who joined the party in their quest to defeat the Iron Circle. On Dar Gremath’s advice, the party sought out the Woodsinger elves at a known camp in the Harken Forest.

After finding the Woodsinger camp, the adventurer’s spoke with Eriyel, the leader of the tribe. She explained that elves needed a sign that they could trust the adventurers in order to aid them in their fight against the Iron Circle. An undead wizard named Yisarn wanders the ruins of an Eladrin city called Dal Nystiere. The adventurers were given a vial of green dragon’s blood to activate a portal that would take them to Dal Nystiere.

After defeating the wizard’s goblin allies, the adventurers tested the full functionality of his spiked pit traps before defeating him. With Yisarn dead, they returned to the elves who promised them aid in battle.

First Adventure

Harbek, the dwarf fighter, Korzon, the human warpriest, and Lucan, the elf wizard found themselves kidnapped and blindfolded in the back of a wagon. After ambushing and disposing of the brigands, who were busying themselves with torching a the widow Ilyana’s thatch roof cottage, the three discovered that they had been brought to an area called Harkenwold and had found themselves in the possession of a group calling themselves ‘Iron Circle’.

Ilyana informed the adventurers of what she knows about the Iron Circle, and advised them to steer clear of Harken village, but to instead look for Reithann in Druid’s Grove, or Dar Gremath in Albridge.

After talking with Reithann first, the party decided to eliminate the Bullywugs at Toadwallow Cavern first, in order to free the citizens of Tor’s Hold. After an extended battle, the adventurer’s flushed the Bullywug chieftan, Gloorpk, from his hiding place and killed him.

The party returned evidence of their success Reithann, and continued on to Albridge. They found the town held lightly by a group of Iron Circle soldiers, and made their way to Dar Gremath’s stable. Dar informed the adventurer’s that the Iron Circle brigands are run by a man named Nazin Redthorn. Redthorn has taken over Iron Keep in Harken village after deposing Baron John Stockmer. Dar thinks that the best strategy would be to draw the Iron Circle out of Iron Keep with attacks on some of their supply convoys.

The adventurers waylaid one such convoy, and crippled Dar’s son Timmy in the process.
